| Description | The 'Antagonismes' exhibition was held at MACBA, 26 July-14 October. The papers include the initial invitation and correspondence with John Latham requesting the loan of his work 'Art and Culture' and his suggestion that they show Barbara Steveni's 'Banner'; statement by John Latham on why the 'Banner' has not been considered by the British Council; correspondence with Barbara Steveni, mainly with curator, Jose Lebraro Stals, at MACBA including Steveni's proposal for the show; loan request for the 'Banner'; insurance; contextual documents and photographs of the 'Banner' and instructions on hanging; collection slips and images and list of a suggested slide lecture on Barbara Steveni's work; private view card; press cuttings and exhibition publication. The 'Banner' was picked up without a container but was returned in a large wooden art shipping crate, which subsequently became part of the work. The papers include a collection slip for the 'Banner' for exhibition at the 'Independence' exhibition, South London Gallery, 2003, which states it is in a crate. |
