| Description | This series comprises a compilation of Barbara Steveni's loose handwritten notes on her personal life and professional practice. They include notes on thoughts and feelings, journal entries, drafts of letters, plans for her work, records of conversations, 'worksheets' (her lists of work and domestic jobs to do) and the files are arranged in chronological order, where possible. In some instances notes are dated but in many cases they are not. Barbara Steveni used the process of note-taking to think through ideas, problems and thoughts on a daily basis. Often the notes were illegible, even to her, but often it was the process and act of writing that was important to her, rather than the resulting words on paper. |
