DescriptionIn 1925, Wood was moving in the top artistic and social circles. Discussing Diaghilev, Picasso, Cocteau et al., he writes on April 16th 'We are a big family of artists who see each other all the time'. He also expressed much admiration for Augustus John, and became closer to him and to Dobson. At the end of the year, the possibility of Wood designing the sets for Diaghilev's Russian Ballet was discussed, which was to dominate his work for some time, as Diaghilev prevaricated. Letters written from: Paris, Marseille, Monte Carlo, Rome, Chelsea, St. Margaret's Bay (Deal), and Parkstone (Dorset).
