| Description | Shirin's letters mainly concern her travels to and around Africa and descriptions of places she visited. They also refer to her visits to Stanley, school, heaven and her childhood and Christmas (TGA 733/1/1771-2). Stanley's letters concern his reasons for housing Unity and Shirin with Mrs. Harter when children (TGA 733/1/1786); Shirin's travels in Africa (TGA 733/1/1787); and his work including a portrait of Mr. Murphy, Principal of Hertford College (TGA 733/1/1787); proposed commission for the University of London Students Union and Regatta series (TGA 733/1/1788), and drawing Lady Derby and the Prime Minister (TGA 733/1/1789). |
