DescriptionRelating to 'Uncomfortable truths : the shadow of slave trading on contemporary art and design' (20 February to 17 June 2007), an exhibition marking the bicentenary of the outlawing of the British slave trade, part of the national initiative ‘Remembering Slavery’. The exhibition toured to Salford Museum & Art Gallery and Ferens Art Gallery, Hull.

Lubaina Himid was one of the participating artists. Cover letter from Zoe Whitley, curator, contemporary programmes, V&A (18 June 2007), mentions how Himid's installation 'Naming the money' 'challenged, taught and inspired V&A audiences', and the damage to one of the figures.
