| Description | The opening of the group exhibition 'Transforming the crown : African, Asian, and Caribbean artists in Britain, 1966-1996' at Kenkeleba Gallery, New York, has been postponed until Spring 1997 because of the difficulties organising a national tour.
The exhibition catalogue will feature essays by Eddie Chambers, Okwui Enwezor, Kobena Mercer, Gilane Tawadros, Anne Walmsley, Deborah Willis, and Judith Wilson. Public programmes will be co-presented by Brooklyn Museum, New York University's Africana Studies Department, and the Poetry Project at St. Mark's. The Center hopes to develop a segment for 'Sunday morning news' on CBS television, and broadcast panel discussions on National Public Radio via independent production company Kingstreet Productions. |
