Description
Originally enclosing second edition of the catalogue 'Women's art at New Hall', edited by Ann Jones. It reprints the essay by Marina Warner and the address given by Griselda Pollock at opening of the exhibition in September 1992.
Acres gives information on the response to the collection, including the inclusion of work by contemporary artists; the revival of the students' art committee with a collection of original lithographs bought in the 1960s and 1970s; and the promised long-term loan of a Barbara Hepworth sculpture. Himid's gifted 'In Spinster Salt's collection' has been moved to the main dining hall.
