- typed letter from Professor Griselda Pollock, Pudsey, Leeds, to Himid. Apologises for failure of Nigel Walsh and Amanda Phillips of Leeds City Art Gallery to arrange event to mark Pollock's loan of the painting 'Five' by Himid. Invites Himid to University of Leeds to be first speaker in Pollock's seminar on feminism, art and history. Also asks her to contribute a project to book of essays and art pages Pollock is preparing called 'Generations and geographies : critical practices and critical theories in feminism and the visual arts'. She suggests 'two cent overture' ('Toussaint L'Ouverture'), a publication form of her exhibition 'African gardens', or 'something new'. Mentions Himid's participation in the 'Seen/unseen' group exhibition at the Bluecoat gallery, Liverpool. Annotated by Himid;

- a handwritten draft reply in pencil from Himid to Pollock. Suggests her current series of paintings 'Beach huts' for Pollock's 'Generations and geographies';

- photocopy of handwritten document, 'Working title Lubaina Himid / No footnotes : Black women & Picasso' for Picasso book edited by Jane Beckett. A proposal for her chapter, it mentions Paris, and Himid's 'Three musicians', 'Three women at the fountain', 'Running women' (aka 'Freedom and change'), and a new piece.
