| Description | Butler is an artist who previously contacted Himid and Sulter in December 1993 about participating in her 'Kitchen table piece'; she plans to do others in South America and Europe and hopes they will be able to take part.
She would like them to participate in another project, 'The book of lies', after Betye Saar recommended their work. She encloses an information sheet about the project : it is to be a 'four volume portfolio of artist published multiples' as part of the Artists (Invisible Floating) Museum of Actual Art series of curated projects founded by Butler in 1990.
The letter continues - Volume one looks to include Terry Fox, John O'Brien, James Lee Byars, James Melchert, Mud Man, but she would like to include more works by women artists, 'particularly women of color'.
The cover has been proposed by Julia Lohmann, Düsseldorf, Germany.
