| Description | The Aitken Staff Fund was established as a bequest from the former director Charles Aitken. It was intended that 'the income shall be used primarily with a view to the health of members of staff either in cases of actual illness or so as to help in the prevention of illness as by grants for rest or holidays, or for any other purpose conducive to health and also to relieve cases of financial distress due to no fault of the person to be relieved.' The fund is administered by a small committee which meets three or four times a year to discuss cases of illness or hardship which might qualify for a grant from the fund. |
