| Description | Thanks Himid for photographs. She will probably use 'the Great Artist with the keys of life image' for her chapter on Himid in 'Differencing the canon : feminism and the writing of art's histories' (1999).
Encloses photocopied reproduction of the Baroque artwork 'Ruth and Naomi' by Jan Victors that she will also use to support the section on those Old Testament figures. The work reminded her of Himid's 'Five', owned by Pollock. She got the image from the Warburg Institute; there is a better image at the Witt Library, Courtauld Institute. It was originally published in the catagolue for the Sotheby's New York sale on 14 January 1988.
Pollock also formally requests permission to reproduce 'Act one no maps' in the book. |
