Description
Alston's handwritten letter for faxing (12 April) pleads with Himid not to 'give up on' her. Will mail check for 'Beach house'. Asks for information about the work 'Beethoven's cousin' (Himid corrects Alston's mistaken 'daughter') for 'busy client. Asks Maud Sulter to contact her about 'our unfinished business'.
Himid's reply (21 April) discusses spring in Preston; going back to work at University of Central Lancashire; painting and writing; the opening of her 'Portraits & heroes' exhibition at the gallery on 17 March. Sends best wishes to Alston's husband Willis Burton, and will send 'Beach House' slides for prospective buyers.
