DescriptionRelating to the exhibition 'Now for the future', Hayward Gallery, London, exhibiting works bought by the Arts Council since 1984.

Lubaina Himid's 'Scenes from the life of Toussaint L'Ouverture' (1987) is not exhibited, but is reproduced on a leaflet to advertise the exhibition and the new collection catalogue.

Donald Rodney's 'Soweto : a post modern post mortem' is also not included in the exhibition and will be available for the Rodney show at Rochdale Art Gallery.

Back of 20 March letter is extensively annotated with doodles, and picture of man in suit and shades, with dogs. Notes perhaps present ideas for exhibition, and mention Maud Sulter, Laura Godfrey-Isaacs, Tess Jaray, Rose Garrard, AIR Gallery, Anne Grebby, Tate, feminism, racism, Islam, Stoke, Birmingham, Wakefield, and Andrei Tarkovsky.
